Pat Flaherty spent the past twelve seasons in charge of the New York Giants offensive line under Tom Coughlin. It is with this rich and valuable experience that he comes to the Bay Area and the San Francisco 49ers with a tough task at hand: finding a way to fix the many leaks in the offensive line.
Last season was abysmal for the 49ers in numerous ways, the offensive line included. Mike Iupati left in free agency in the offseason, Anthony Davis shocked the world with a very sudden retirement in June, and it all went downhill from there as Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert spent much of the 2015 campaign running for their lives.
