In the morning, Blaine Gabbert met with the local media for the first time during training camp.
In the afternoon, the 49ers backup quarterback stayed in the spotlight.
Gabbert had perhaps his best practice of the summer, unofficially completing 14 of 16 passes during 11-on-11 periods. It should be noted Gabbert was primarily facing defensive backups and most of his passes didn’t travel more than 10 yards, but there were a few head-turners.
He began an early two-play sequence by deftly floating a 15-yard completion to TE Vernon Davis that sailed just over the 33-inch arms of OLB Eli Harold.
