Jed York and the San Francisco 49ers were finally able to keep a secret and what a secret it was. The 49ers came out of nowhere to hire former NFL safety and Fox football analyst John Lynch as their new general manager. The reports going into the weekend was that George Paton or Terry McDonough were going to speak with Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers would pick one of the 2 to work with Kyle. On Sunday, the news came out that there was a 3rd candidate and John was named.
John Lynch is a risky hire because he has never worked in a front office.
