Golden Nuggets: Gary Plummer Estimates Ten Concussions Per Game

Happy Thursday folks. Another slow football day, but an interesting human interest piece made the rounds. During an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, former 49ers linebacker Gary Plummer estimated that he sustained roughly ten minor concussions per game, over a 12 year NFL career in which he appeared in 190 combined regular season and playoff games.

He went on to discuss former teammate Junior Seau, who was posthumously diagnosed with CTE after his 2012 suicide. Surely, this should bring a renewed focus on player safety in the coming weeks.

In better news, the first interviews of the combine will be taking place next Tuesday, February 27th.
