Tuesday was a dark day for a few assistant coaches on the 49ers staff. It was the day that 10 of the coaches were relieved of their duty on the team. The most obvious of those was offensive coordinator Geep Chryst. He led an offense that ranked 31st in the league in yards and 32nd in points scored. With Chip Kelly as the head coach, the offensive strategy will change and he will want to hire his own offensive coordinator.
Reports are saying that Curtis Modkins, Detroit Lions assistant, is a top candidate for the 49ers offensive coordinator opening.
