Well-known attorney Gloria Allred will speak Friday to at-risk students at Tennyson High School, where a February speech to the same group by former San Francisco 49ers player Ray McDonald generated backlash.
McDonald is accused of raping a woman in December 2014 and faces an upcoming trial in Santa Clara County. The woman is represented by Allred. "Usually people are asking me to speak -- I'm not looking for forums or venues in which to speak," the Los Angeles civil rights attorney said."I receive many, many invitations to speak," she said. "I generally turn down most invitations to speak just because I can't make the time or commitment to do it, but I thought this was an important one for me to do.
