SAN JOSE — One of the 49ers’ first forays into the Oakland community came a day after the Raiders’ final game at the Coliseum and about 50 miles south.
About 25 Oakland kids sponsored by the Fam 1st charity loaded up on a bus for the hour-and-a-half drive to Shoe Palace in San Jose. They were greeted by a group of 49ers defensive linemen, a store to themselves and stockings on the walls with $250 VISA gift cards.
