The 49ers on Friday ruled out four starters, including running back Shaun Draughn, from playing in Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
The 49ers have only two halfbacks on their 53-man roster, including DuJuan Harris, whom the team signed this week off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. Kendall Gaskins is the only other running back currently on the team.
Draughn is second on the team in rushing with 263 yards. He is also fourth in receiving with 25 catches for 175 yards.
The 49ers have until 1 p.m. (PT) on Saturday to make any roster moves for that player to be eligible to play on Sunday.
