As many as four sons of famous 49ers could end up having their names called during the NFL Draft, which begins Thursday in Detroit.
Jerry Rice, Frank Gore, Terrell Owens and Ed McCaffrey, who won a Super Bowl with the Niners, all have kids who’ve popped up on NFL Draft boards heading into this week. While it’s not a given that all of them will get picked, plenty of general managers believe in bloodlines — starting with 49ers GM John Lynch, who already added one of McCaffrey’s sons, Christian, to San Francisco’s roster in 2022.
“It’s crazy how those things translate,” Lynch said Monday in a press conference.
