Rashard Robinson won't be playing in a regular season game until Oct. 7 at the earliest.
The former 49ers cornerback is suspended the first four games for violating the league's policy on substances of abuse.
Robinson -- who currently plays for the Jets -- was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 draft.
He started six games as a rookie and made seven starts last season before he was traded to New York in late October.
In exchange, the 49ers acquired a 2018 fifth-round pick -- which the 49ers shipped to New England (along with right tackle Trent Brown) for a third-round selection.
