Former 49er, charged with making criminal threats, released with GPS monitor

Former Stanford and San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jonathan Martin, charged with four felony counts of making criminal threats, has been released from custody with a GPS monitor, TMZ Sports reported.

Attorneys for Martin, who also played with the Miami Dolphins, appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court recently to ask a judge for their client’s release.

The charges were related to a dark Instagram post which read, “When you’re a bully & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge.” Included in the post were the Twitter handles of two former high school classmates of Martin, and two of his former Miami Dolphins teammates.
