INDIANAPOLIS — Late one night at the NFL scouting combine, a cool scene unfolded inside a mostly deserted hotel lounge. There sat 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan along with general manager John Lynch and other staff members.
Laughter, banter and stories filled the air. This is the third combine since the 49ers installed their new regime, and even though they’ve won only 10 of 32 games, a harmonious approach remains evident as the 49ers try returning to playoff contention.
Shanahan held his press briefing Wednesday, Lynch conducted his on Thursday, and their words matched up when it came to players’ status, the franchise’s methods and their burning desire to win.
