GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — Here are five aspects the 49ers (1-4) must conquer to pull off a Monday night upset of the Green Bay Packers (2-2-1):
1. Ball security. What made last Sunday’s home loss to the then-winless Arizona Cardinals so maddening is the manner in which the 49ers gave it away: five turnovers.
All blame doesn’t fall on quarterback C.J. Beathard for his two lost fumbles and two interceptions. It takes a clumsy village, and the 49ers must play better around Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury replacement.
Turnovers can dictate game-day fates, and the 49ers are ruing them.
