Former 49ers right tackle Anthony Davis, who was placed on the team’s reserve/retired list in June, confirmed Monday morning he plans to make a comeback in 2016.
When a fan asked Davis on Twitter if there’s any chance he’ll be back next season, Davis responded, “Yes, that's the Plan.”
Davis, a five-year NFL veteran, turns 26 in October. He stepped away from the sport this offseason due to health concerns, he said.
"After a few years of thought, I've decided it will be best for me to take a year or so away from the NFL,” Davis wrote in a statement upon announcing his decision.
