A former 49ers personnel executive isn’t sold on the idea of ESPN analyst Louis Riddick becoming the next general manager for the franchise.
Vinny Cerrato, who worked for the 49ers as a scout, director of college personnel and director of player personnel from 1991-99, told KNBR-1050 that Riddick has never been in a draft room on draft day.
Riddick was drafted by the 49ers in 1991 during Cerrato’s tenure and spent seven seasons as an NFL defensive back including a season with the Raiders in 1998. He worked in personnel for Cerrato in Washington and with the Philadelphia Eagles under general manager Howie Roseman.
