It’s been nearly two decades since the San Francisco 49ers decided to pass over Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 NFL Draft and select Alex Smith with the No. 1 pick. Apparently, there is still beef between two NFL head coaches over that decision all this time later.
According to an ESPN story previewing author Ian O’Connor’s unauthorized biography of Rodgers, one of the key takeaways from the soon-to-be-published book is that former 49ers coach Mike Nolan is “still bother[ed]” by how the Smith-Rodgers decision ended up working out.
