The Evan Mathis sweepstakes are officially over. Adam Schefter is reporting the free agent guard has signed a one year deal with the Denver Broncos. The deal is reportedly worth $2.5 million with incentives that could boost it to $4 million. John Clayton briefly connected the 49ers with Mathis earlier this summer, but that was likely just agent puffery.
The 49ers seem content with their various OL options. Alex Boone and Marcus Martin have handled guard duties primarily. Brandon Thomas is getting more left guard work lately with the second team.
