The 49ers actually looked competitive against the Detroit Lions, one of the best teams in the league, in a rematch of the 2024 NFC Championship Game that surely looked more enticing before the season. San Francisco led for most of the game before faltering late due to miscues and mistakes, falling to 6-10 on the season. After the Lions took the lead at the end of the third quarter, ESPN cameras panned to an irate Lynch watching on from the box seats.
