An undrafted free agent from the 2005 NFL Draft class, Colorado State offensive lineman Erik Pears will be spending this season with the San Francisco 49ers, his sixth team in his pro football career.
Two stints in Denver, one in Oakland, one in Jacksonville, and one in Buffalo, which last four seasons, Pears will not be expected to compete for a starting job with the 49ers, especially after long time right tackle, Anthony Davis announced his “retirement” from the NFL last week.
In Buffalo is where Pears found his greatest success, starting a full 16 games three times in four seasons, including 32 straight games the last two years.
