The NFL is holding their October owners’ meeting this week, and it is slightly different and more important than most such meetings. This week, players and NFLPA executives have joined the owners to discuss the player protests and the racial justice issues surrounding the protests.
There is already one positive step forward that has come from collaboration between the players and owners. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a joint letter to Congress backing a criminal justice reform bill. The bill has bipartisan support, but it has been stalled in Congress.
