The 49ers on Tuesday lost a young offensive lineman off their practice squad.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Tanner Hawkinson to their 53-man roster from the 49ers’ practice squad. The 49ers signed Hawkinson to complete their 10-player practice squad on Sept. 7 after Hawkinson was among the final cuts of the Cincinnati Bengals. Players on practice squads are considered free agents and can be signed to another team's 53-man roster at any point.
Hawkinson (6 foot 5, 300 pounds) was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Bengals in 2013. He appeared in four games for Cincinnati during his first two NFL seasons.
