Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin exploded myths when he talked about his collaboration with 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick on advancing the social justice movement that started when Kaepernick protested the national anthem.
The 49ers-Seahawks rivalry was at its zenith in 2013, when a commercial advertising a Beats by Dre headphone debuted across the country. In the ad, the intense scenes depicted Kaepernick arriving in Seattle before a game and getting harassed by Seahawk fans, who swore at Kaepernick and urinated on the team bus. Here’s the video.
But with the 49ers visiting Seattle on Sunday, Baldwin said the commercial and the words written about the intense rivalry were just rhetoric.
