The San Francisco 49ers suspended linebacker De’Vondre Campbell for three games just days after he refused to enter a game following his relegation to the bench.
Campbell was one of the team’s leading free agent acquisitions this past offseason after the 49ers were spurned by linebacker Eric Kendricks, prompting them to settle for the former Green Bay Packers linebacker.
But, the veteran started the year slow before slowly starting to find his groove over the second half of the season. Then came the fiasco against the Los Angeles Rams, leading to a loud outcry from current players disregarding Campbell’s actions, ultimately leading to his suspension.
