The clock is ticking on DirecTV and Disney to settle their carriage dispute in time to show the San Francisco 49ers’ season opener against the New York Jets on Monday night.
With the television provider trying to present a strong face against Disney, its messaging to customers is outright dismissive of fans’ concerns for the first wave of games.
DirecTV’s website includes a page where customers can geolocate their service by ZIP code to troubleshoot any missing channels. Entering a San Francisco Bay Area ZIP code on the page — which has the phrase “TV Promise” in its URL — gets this message back:
“We’re excited to see the start of the new college and NFL football seasons too.
