For the second time in his career as an NFL executive, former 49ers general manager Trent Baalke was the subject of an aerial fan protest that called on team ownership to fire him.
Baalke has been the general manager for the Jacksonville Jaguars since 2021 — he started on an interim basis during the 2020 season before the team kept him on full time — but on Sunday, some fans decided four years on the job was enough. Ahead of the Jaguars’ game against the Titans, a plane flew above the Jacksonville stadium with a message to owner Shad Khan that read, “SHAD—FIRE BAALKE!
