Head coach Jim Tomsula said Bishop would require "a little procedure" on his left thumb, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, though he didn't specify the amount of time Bishop would miss, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
Bishop, 31, was signed by the team before Week 16 of last season and finished the year with three tackles while primarily playing a role on special teams.
