The San Francisco 49ers have Tuesday off but received good news without being on the practice field. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was released from the hospital after finding out he had “some fluid in his lungs” over the weekend.
On Monday, Kyle Shanahan called it an “odd” illness, technically pneumonia. Samuel’s illness started acting up in the middle of the night on Saturday and evolved as Sunday went on.
Samuel played four snaps in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He came in and out of the game on two separate occasions, but it was evident that he wasn’t near 100 percent healthy.
