Five-time Super Bowl-winning owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. is on the brink of being enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame on Wednesday announced DeBartolo was selected as a finalist for the Class of 2016 in the contributor category. DeBartolo must receive the necessary 80-percent vote on the eve of Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara to earn election.
"I'm truly humbled ... my football life is going through my head right now," DeBartolo said upon being named as a finalist, according to the Hall of Fame.
Last month, DeBartolo also served as the presenter for Charles Haley, who was elected into the Hall of Fame.
