Nice of Adidas to express interest in signing disenfranchised quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a sponsorship contract. Not so much the king-sized asterisk the apparel giant slapped on the potential business relationship.
“If he signs on a (NFL) team, we would definitely want to sign him,” Mark King, president of Adidas’ North American division, told the New York Daily News.
Oh, is that all?
We’ll give Mark King a break. Maybe he’s been working really hard the past 13 months. So maybe he hadn’t heard that Kaepernick opted out of his 49ers contract last spring. Maybe he wasn’t aware that no NFL team has given Kaepernick so much as a workout.
