DeForest Buckner and Joshua Garnett are Bay Area bound. The 6-foot-7 defensive lineman from Oregon and 6-foot-4 offensive guard from Stanford became the first draft choices of the Chip Kelly era for the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers selected Buckner with the No. 7 overall selection, and then traded back into the first round to grab Garnett at pick No. 28.
Now the focus shifts to Day 2 for rounds two and three. The 49ers will pick once on Friday with the fifth pick in the third round (68th overall).
