The San Francisco 49ers are currently in the midst of a coaching search, as they’re looking for both their next defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator.
For the latter position, the team has already conducted a number of interviews with external candidates, creating a wider pool of options to fix what has been a problem for years.
However, for the former position, the 49ers have only formally conducted two interviews: former defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Detroit Lions pass game coordinator Deshea Townsend.
As the lack of interviews continues for the vacant defensive coordinator position, it seems more and more likely that Saleh is San Francisco’s pick to fill the role.
