Chip Kelly was ” released” as head coach and general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles today after a disappointing season and a 6-9 record with one game remaining. The Eagles official Twitter account broke the news themselves around 7:15 ET.
Kelly came from a very successful program at the University of Oregon and many believed that his high scoring and quick-paced offense would revolutionize the NFL. As it turns out, Kelly won’t have a chance to revolutionize anything any longer in Philadelphia.
I wrote last week about candidates that the 49ers might consider should they decide to let go of head coach Jim Tomsula and/or offensive coordinator Geep Chryst.
