The 49ers really are bringing it down to the wire as promised. Kyle Shanahan said the team would take its decision on playing tight end George Kittle all the way to 90 minutes before kickoff, and two hours before Sunday’s 1:05 p.m. kickoff against the Seahawks, there were still conflicting reports about Kittle’s status.
Kittle, who missed last week’s season opener against the Bears with a groin injury, has been listed as questionable all week and barely practiced. The San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday that the injury-prone pass catcher would not play against Seattle.
