Colin Kaepernick celebrates 32nd birthday by helping Oakland community

OAKLAND — Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took time out over a weekend to mark his 32nd birthday by supporting local communities under threat.

According to TMZ, the athlete-turned-activist spent time Sunday giving out free food, backpacks and respirator masks to the homeless.

On Instagram, Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp foundation, which works to “raise awareness on higher education, self empowerment, and instructions on how to properly interact with law enforcement in various scenarios,” shared a video of Kaepernick distributing items and spending time with community members Sunday.

Another video flashed back to a beaming Kaepernick accepting a cake from well-wishers during a 2016 birthday celebration.
