On Thursday, 49ers head coach Chip Kelly said starting right guard Anthony Davis was “obviously” one of the team’s best five offensive linemen and his move from tackle to guard in August had provided him with peace.
“It’s given me the ability to sleep a little bit better,” Kelly said on KNBR, “knowing we have A.D. and (right tackle) Trent Brown on the right side of our line.”
On Monday, however, Andrew Tiller started at right guard and Davis, who was healthy, didn’t enter when Tiller left the game for two plays with a foot injury.
