The Chiefs on Saturday announced the release of offensive lineman Jordan Devey.
The team also re-signed running back Knile Davis and promoted defensive end David King to the active roster.
Devey came to the 49ers in a trade with the Patriots for tight end Asante Cleveland on Aug. 18, 2015. He was named the surprise starter at right guard for the 49ers' 2015 season opener. He started the first nine game of the season before Andrew Tiller replaced him in the lineup.
Devey, 28, appeared in seven games with four starts for the Patriots in 2014.
