Had it happened during the regular season, the San Francisco 49ers’ 32-31 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday night would have been a heartbreaker.
But it was merely Week 3 of the preseason, and the majority of the Niners’ first-team units dominated the Vikings over the first two quarters of action — the time closest resembling what to expect in the regular season.
Week 4, however, will be nothing of the sort.
The 49ers square off with the visiting Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 10 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium for each team’s final preseason bout.
