New San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hired Atlanta Falcons running backs coach Bobby Turner to serve in the same role for his coaching staff. Shanahan has said he would like to find 49ers running backs coach Tom Rathman a role, but he had promised Turner he would bring him along once he got a head coach job.
Shanahan has said he will talk with Rathman about some kind of opportunity, but nothing has come up thus far. However, one notable person has chimed in on it to some extent. Running back Carlos Hyde posted a picture of himself with Rathman during a game.
