The Arizona Cardinals want to squeeze the middle of the field and force 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to throw the ball outside the numbers, safety Tony Jefferson said on Tuesday.
Jefferson, speaking on PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio, was asked by host Mike Florio what differences he has seen in Kaepernick from last season. Jefferson said the Cardinals believe Kaepernick is quick to shift into running mode on third downs and he's is more adept at throwing passes in the middle of the field.
“We’re just seeing on third downs, we’ve been seeing him tuck the ball away and running,” said Jefferson, a third-year pro.
