When Bruce Miller tried to enter the running backs room on the first day of the off-season program, running back coach Tom Rathman pointed across the hall to the tight ends room and said Miller belonged over there now. Chip Kelly never uses a fullback, so one of the best lead blockers in the league is now a tight end on a team already stacked at the position.
Miller was only mildly surprised. No dumb guy, Miller knew a position switch was ahead for him. That’s why he has dropped 15 to 20 pounds since the start of last season.
