Bruce Ellington more than just a special teams player

Although he played in 13 games in his rookie season with the San Francisco 49ers, wide receiver Bruce Ellington was used primarily as a special teams ace, but this year, he could and should see more snaps on offense.

Ellington was the only player on the 49ers squad to catch a touchdown pass in the 4th quarter last year, a 20-yard reception from quarterback Blaine Gabbert. It was Ellington’s first touchdown of his career.

In Week 16, Ellington scored a pair of touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, aiding the 49ers in their highest output on the season.
