For some, the name of their team’s punter isn’t very important, until it’s necessary. For others, the name of their punter isn’t important at all. But for fans of the San Francisco 49ers, Andy Lee was only known to everybody, but he was a staple to the team, and the NFL.
Lee, who was drafted by San Francisco in 6th round of the 2004 NFL Draft, became one of the 49ers best player, and that’s no lie. In 2007, Lee was one of two 49ers to make the Pro Bowl (Patrick Willis being the other).
While the rest of the roster faced constant questions and change, the one position all 49er fans knew was solid, was at punter.
