It appears NaVorro Bowman will play tonight in the 49ers’ second preseason game against the Cowboys, marking the first time the inside linebacker has participated in a game in 19 months.
About 90 minutes before kickoff, the 49ers announced four players won’t play against Dallas and Bowman wasn’t on the list. Those who won’t participate: wide receiver Bruce Ellington, cornerback/safety Jimmie Ward, inside linebacker Philip Wheeler and defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey.
In practices this week, Bowman did not sport the bulky knee brace he’s worn throughout the offseason. Last week, Bowman said he hoped to play significant snaps when he made his preseason debut.
