The San Francisco 49ers will get to see Blaine Gabbert twice next season. The quarterback has signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. So, I suppose the 49ers will see him twice on the sideline and that is assuming he makes the team later this summer.
Gabbert will compete with Drew Stanton to serve as Carson Palmer’s backup. That is a fairly notable role considering Palmer’s injury history and age. Palmer played 15 games last season and 16 the season before, but is 37 heading into the 2017 season.
