The New York Giants are a very historic rival of the 49ers, given that they have a knack of knocking each other out of the playoffs (well they did it to the 49ers more than San Francisco did it to them). The rivalry has extended far more than that, as it's been a east vs west mentality whenever New York and San Francisco met up.
