You’d be excused for thinking Bill Belichick became less of a robot Tuesday while the Patriots coach talked about Jimmy Garoppolo.
The usually unperturbed Belichick started a press conference by confessing — well, sharing — his appreciation for the now-former backup to Tom Brady. Rather than wait for questions, Belichick jumped right into New England’s trade with the 49ers that sent Garoppolo westward.
“First of all, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jimmy,” Belichick said, per USA Today. “I couldn’t ask him to give more than he’s given us. The 49ers are getting a good player.
