Richard Sherman was doing his best Monday to let 49ers fans know there was no disrespect intended when he munched on a turkey leg on the Levi’s Stadium 50-yard line at the behest of television producers.
“Honestly, we were just enjoying the moment,” Sherman told reporters by conference call.
There was also the time he exploded in a postgame interview with Fox analyst Erin Andrews about the 49ers having the temerity to throw the ball in his direction to Michael Crabtree when the Seahawks won the NFC championship 23-17 in Seattle following the 2012 season.
Sherman’s breakup of a Colin Kaepernick pass and subsequent interception by Malcolm Smith put the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
