There are a number of tiebreakers to determine the pecking order in the NFL Draft. But if all are exhausted and the results are still the same, a basic coin flip will determine who drafts first.
In 2018, the San Francisco 49ers won this coin flip over the Oakland Raiders, which gave general manager John Lynch and Co. the No. 9 overall pick in that year’s draft. Oakland, meanwhile, selected at No. 10 instead.
And with that pick, the Niners ended up grabbing former Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey.
The Raiders subsequently traded out of the 10th overall pick, moving down to the No.
