SAN JOSE -- The attorneys defending former San Francisco 49er Dana Stubblefield on Friday filed a motion asking the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office be recused from the rape case against him, accusing prosecutors of leaking information to the media and speaking publicly in a prejudicial way.
Gary Winuk, one of the attorneys representing Stubblefield, made the announcement during a brief news conference Friday outside the criminal Hall of Justice."There's been press statements, there's been leaks of information, and all other types of conduct that has been used to prejudice this particular case," said Winuk, referring to charges that Stubblefield raped a "developmentally delayed" woman in 2015.
