49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis will not play in Sunday's game in Carolina because of a concussion, the team announced on Friday.
Davis was not listed on the team's injury report on Wednesday or Thursday.
Davis was slated to be the 49ers' starting right guard, but he missed practice last Saturday as he was contemplating retiring again, sources told CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco.
“It was just a miscommunication,” Chip Kelly said on Tuesday. “I had a long talk with Anthony on Saturday and everything has been ironed out. He’s good to go.
“It was a miscommunication between myself and Anthony and we don’t have a miscommunication any longer.
